Croatia is about to enter the European Union, its animal abuse and cruelty for far too long has gone unhindered due to corrupt Governmental bodies and authorities. Now the curtain is being pulled back and the extent of horror for the animals is now becoming evident.
This is just one case among thousands that is now becoming known where authorities are on the side of the abuser and are blatantly allowing such cruelty to continue despite becoming a member state.
NOW is the time for us all within Europe to stand up for the animals in Croatia, the rescuers there have been left to fight alone for too long. Let us all stand together in one voice, along with the animal welfare groups in Croatia and together tell the government that no longer will animal abuse and cruelty be tolerated in a country belonging to a European member, no longer will we fellow Europeans allow our fellow colleagues in Croatia to fight this war against cruelty alone.

Reference: The non prosecution of the animal abuser Branko Borkovic
I was sickened to watch a video where obviously two starving dogs were eating a horse alive, all belonging to the same person, the above mentioned Branko Borkovic.
I was even more disgusted to learn that your city hall/police department have failed to prosecute this person despite overwhelming video evidence of the crimes and the terrible condition of his animals. As a soon to be European Member state I am sure I do not have to remind you that Croatia is expected to behave in a civilised and lawful manner. However it is blatantly obvious that your government officials and veterinary officers still reside in the dark ages and will continue to ignore the cruelty and abuse of animals carried out by your citizens.
I demand you take action, to open and investigation and to send a competent veterinary officer along with the local animal welfare group to investigate this matter and to examine the animals that remain on Branko Borkovics home.
Considering the overwhelming evidence against this man I do expect at the very least for him to be prosecuted and to be made an example of for others within your country to realise that no longer will Croatia allow such cruelty to continue without being acted upon in the correct and legal manner.
