URGENT APPEAL
(See update at end of appeal)

Bragadiru public shelter, a vile horrific place where pens with 45 small dogs who were going to be brutally slaughtered this weekend. Thank goodness through a mass collaboration between AAfa, amazing Romanian rescuers and other lovely UK groups stepped up and have reserved all 44 dogs.

Now we need your help.....

AAFA can organise the transport , get them to safety in the UK, do all the ground work but we need the pennies to help us do this.

To get all 44 dogs vaccinated, ready for travel, sterilised and the bare basic transport costs are going to be approx £4,200 we simply cannot do this alone. We have the network, the ability to help but we just do not have the coffers in the bank to do this, not for 44 dogs.

AAFA will take on at least 10 dogs and be RBU, other UK groups will also be taking on the remaining 34, between us somehow we will rehome find foster for all 44.

We know times are tough, we know they are, but for these dogs right now times really could not be tougher...

UPDATE

The last few days we have learnt of the horror that has happened in Bragadiru shelter where our 46 (yes we added an extra one) are being held and to be honest even with reassurances from the shelter staff we could not be 100% the butchers had not touched our reserved dogs...Even though we had conformed to all their demands etc nothing is certain in Romania public shelters.

So, it is with a HUGE smile on my face and a breath of relief I can confirm......... ALL our 46 are safe and in just 2 days time those poor souls who would be wondering if they were next on the butchers blocks, there kennel doors will be swung open and instead of being dragged, kicked and punched to their deaths, they will be picked up and carried to the transport that is now being arranged to take them to the pension in Timiosara. The hard work is not over yet by a log shot, but.... I have to say thank you on behalf of the Bragadiru 46, THANK YOU ALL for everything you have done and donated. Yes we still need funds, Yes we still need fosters and adopters to step forward but for now, we can all sit back and take a breath. Our dogs are safe and this Friday they will all be on their way to freedom. The first step in their new lives....and its all thanks to team work and people who did step forward and help rather than turning away. xxxxx Will be getting photos of the BIg day on Friday, in the meantime I have a few things i need to do then will update total received. Then.....We have to concentrate on the next steps...But for now...we can all breath knowing we have overcome the biggest obstacle...keeping them alive and safe to get to step 2.
