Psssssttt, have a little something to tell you. That crazy wonderful vet Tragična Hrenovka has only gone and passed her Vet Clinic Inspection, meaning her clinic that she has worked so so so so hard on building, decorating and getting ready will be saving so many more lives in the new year. And don't tell her I told you this but.....Action Aid for Animals is so very proud of her and what she has achieved, we think she really is the bee's knees

This will now allow us all to work together and put in place the sterilisation vouchers and so many other things into practice in that region. To some this may be seen as just another vet opening a clinic, but to us and so many in animal welfare this means literally thousands of lives saved from abuse and cruelty, now that really is something to get excited about.

Florence Action Aid for Animals wonderful ambulance will be on loan to the NGO Vukovar in Vukovar near Zagreb, Croatia this coming January as part of our charities initiative to help Croatian strays.

Florence will be there to help them save even more lives and assist with rescues, delivery of aid and collecting cats and dogs for sterilisation projects. This is only a short term plan as Florence will return back to the UK hopefully by the end of January/early February after AAFA have fundraised and purchased a fast response vehicle to take on Florence's role in Croatia.

We are sure you will all join us to wish Florence good luck on her long trip ahead and to make us in the UK proud and save as many lives as possible out there.

VICTORY FOR BOBBI - SAVED FROM IMMEDIATE DEATH

Excellent news, Langford Vets have confirmed there is no need to euthanise Bobi immediately. After a full medical it has been confirmed Michelle and Jayne can collect him from the vets at 11am tomorrow, and take him home. The RSPCA have confirmed that decisions regarding Bobi's care are between us and our vet.
The vet confirmed that though Bobi does have some medical problems that will need ongoing treatment and vet care, that there is not a need to PTS immediately. However because of his medical problems his longevity will be shortened, by how long no one can state as fact. All we know and am sure Bobi's supporters will agree, whether it a year, 5 years, however long it may be, his life will now be filled with love, care, lots of fuss and all that he medically could possibly need.
We cannot thank you all enough for your incredible support as we all know what Bobi's fate was just 2 days ago, without you all behind Bobi this amazing sweet little dog would have had no future at all. Thank you!

Little Bobbi - thanks to Bobbi's supporters that include 10,000+ people world wide, we are so grateful that we can wish little Bobbi a very happy new year

Thanks to AAFA wonderful supporters and donators our charity late last year were able to help with a donation of £1,600 to the NGO Vukovar in Croatia.

The land is now being got ready for building allowing even more lives to be saved in that region. The land itself is next to Dr Vesna Marisonac's clinic which means dogs can rehabilitate in the sanctuary after sterilisation projects ( funded by AAFA) find safety from the streets and so much more.

We would like to thank each and every one of our supporters and donators that enabled us to make this possible.

It is only with your ongoing support are we able to make such things happen,

Together, we really can make a difference!

Dogs rescued from stray cull in Romania

Manuela Lambert has rescued and rehomed two stray dogs from Romania, Tyrone, left, and Lucky, right
An animal lover from Bury St Edmunds has rescued two dogs from Romania in protest at legislation permitting the cull of thousands of strays.
In April, Manuela Lambert fell in love with a litter of puppies living on a beach near her Romanian vacation home.
When she returned later last year with her husband, Stephen, she found that one had been taken to a dog pound.
A law passed in September - following the high-profile story of a young boy mauled to death in the capital of Bucharest - allowed stray dogs to be put to death after 14 days in detention, so the couple knew they had to act quickly.
On finding the dog now called Tyrone, Manuela said: “He was there for four days and four nights. When I picked him up, he was terrified.”
Charity Action Aid For Animals helped Stephen make arrangements to get Tyrone to Bury while Manuela stayed in Romania to arrange emergency treatment for another dog she had found ‘abandoned, terrified and seriously ill’.
Stephen said: “Initially I was thinking ‘no I can’t believe this,’ but when I looked at this dog’s eyes, my heart melted. She was terrified and just looked so helpless.”
The dog, now named Lucky, received medication for an enlarged heart and underwent surgery two weeks later to remove several tumours, infected teeth and ingrowing nails.
Not wanting to be parted, the journey to Bury was not a simple one for the pair who travelled to Belgium by plane, then to France by car and on to Dover by ferry, where they were met by Stephen.
Manuela said rescuing the dogs had helped her to finally disconnect from her birth country, Romania, and feel at home in Bury.
“It’s a strange thing because she helped them, but they helped her, too,” said Stephen.

Florence not being 24 hours in Croatia already has been put to work by her foster NGO - In these photos you can see the aid all the way from the UK being unloaded at NGO Vukovar storage. This will also be shared with another NGO that is desperately in need of help.

Upon entering Croatia Florence dropped off a load of food and lifesaving aid to the dedicated NGO Sapica, then she went on and stopped in Zagreb to deliver Animal rescues NGO Seven of Nine and NGO Dubvovnicks aid that we had collected.

Busy girl our Flo , but doing exactly what we had hoped she would do...SAVING EVEN MORE lIVES with the help of her amazing foster NGO Za šapu! Vukovar

AAFA Animal Ambulance in Croatia, the teams mission today to save a little puppy who has purposefully been abandoned on an island-Successful

Florence at first light this morning in Croatia, waiting for the team to cross the river to the island. She will be here ready for when they rescue the puppy

Yesterday the wonderful non profit group who are caring for our ambulance Florence had a call from a concerned person. A little pup had been deliberately abandoned on an island in the middle of the Danube river.

Without food, fresh water and the risk of the island flooding during the winter season the puppy would most certainly die. The team were booted up and ready to go in Florence at first light this morning and on board a floating pontoon and on the island as daylight broke.

An animal trap (donation from AAFA) was erected with food as bait inside. One of the volunteers are right now sitting away from the trap out of sight ready to spring into action.

If the puppy does not go for the trap at least the team member can follow the pup and keep tabs on him untill the team return later today.

We will keep you updated and hopefully will be able to report a positive outcome

........................................................................................................................

UPDATE

Wonderful news, after the trap was set and alot of patience RYan, now renamed Rhianna was captured and right now is back on dry land and being cared for at Dr Tragicas veterinary practice, she has even made a new friend in the surgery cat Fugly.

Tragica ( aka Dr T ) boards the boat along with fellow volunteers with the icy winds blowing from all directions and the freeing cold river waters splashing at their faces. A very cold morning but an important job had to be done.

Dr T, setting the trap in hopes to catch the little pup who if not rescued will surely not survive.

On the horizon they could the puppy, but had to wait until she was in the trap

Then the pup caught the smell of the meat wafting from the trap

Then the puppy was caught, and it was off to dry land where Lil Flo was waiting to drive them all back to the surgery for a check over, lots of food and tons of hugs.

With help from the lovely fishermen who gave up their time to ferry the team across the water

Still very scared and suffering from starvation the puppy is put on board Lil Flo

Back at Dr T's surgery she is fed, checked over and the fuss and hugs begin

The puppy even males a new friend , Fugly the surgeries cat

It has been a very long day for this little pup now called Rhianna, so after the food, vet check and lots of fuss and hugs she settles down all snug and warm on the sofa alongside her new friend Fugly

A very Happy Ending for a very special little puppy

Once Rhianna is fully vaccinated etc she will be looking for a forever home, if you think you could complete this little princesses dream please contact our charity as soon as possible

Please, do think about donating towards this worthy cause. You will be helping us make history and more importantly will be helping save thousands of lives for the animals that will benefit from this safe haven now and in the future.

No matter how nice a kennels is, to a dog when you close that door on him/her a kennel is a kennel, a cage is a cage. See photos at the end of all these dogs and others after they have been walked, socialised and cared for. The same haunting look comes over them as any other dog, they are alone and without a family to love them or for them to love.

Please- Foster/Adopt/Share and Cross post.

Whether a dog is in Croatia in a kill shelter or in the UK being cared for in a lovely private kennels, to a dog without a home it is heartbreaking, and no dog is more urgent than another.

PLEASE CONTACT AAFA IF YOU CAN WELCOME ONE OF THESE WONDERFUL DOGS INTO YOUR HOME UNTIL WE FIND THEM THERE VERY OWN FOREVER FAMILY

info@actionaidforanimals.com or Call/Text 07585935950
.......................................................................................................

It breaks our heart to walk away with them looking after us like this, but it breaks there hearts far more. Please foster these dogs, they have a better chance to find a home if in foster than kennels.

We are so very proud of NGO Vukovar in Croatia, they have been caring for and using Florence for exactly what Action Aid for Animals intended our ambulances to be used for.
